Diego made the Product team better simply by being part of the conversation. He never just said “yes” to a requirement; he challenged it constructively, spotted implications others missed, flagged technical risks early and proposed better ways to solve the problem. On a large legacy rebuild he constantly found ways to make the technology fit very specific business needs, adapting off-the-shelf software where a costly custom build seemed inevitable. An excellent mentor to junior and senior developers alike, and a genuine bridge between Product, Engineering and the business.

I've worked with Diego for five years, through three generations of the company's frontend stack: a Vue admin platform, a Next.js publishing estate, and the monorepo he founded and now leads. He's the rare lead who sets the architecture, standards and roadmap, and then takes the hardest tickets himself: framework migrations, supply-chain hardening, the work nobody volunteers for. He reviews nearly everything the team ships, and his reviews are precise, patient and always explain the reasoning, which is why the whole team's code got better, not just his.
